A few pictures I've been working on this week. I've played around with tons of different effects, and I think some of these turned out pretty well. I'm officially obsessed with Picnik at the moment - so fun to use.
Here are a couple of drawings I've been working on for the last few days. The inspiration was a photo of Veronica Lake I found dressed in a military uniform, which I just thought looked quite interesting.
This was a little drawing I did yesterday based on a photo I saw in Lula Magazine. I've used pen, ink and pencil, then digitally enchanced the image. I'm quite pleased with how its turned out, and I also love Picnik for editing images! It's so easy to use but really effective, and good for just playing around and experimenting.
These were both inspired by the 'I love love' ad from a previous post. They were both created with pencil, oil pastel, pen, ink and acrylic. The laptop is also back now!
Just a quick post to show you some experiments I did today, using some paintings from previous posts. I'm pretty pleased with how some of them turned out (others look slightly weird) but I think I'll try some more in similar styles.
I found this old advertisement for Moschinos 'I love love' perfume and thought it was pretty cute, so I decided to paint my own version of it. I used pencil, acrylic, pen and ink on paper for this one. Im going to do a couple more in a similar style.
I was going to post all these on Monday but the laptop finally decided to die after not really working properly for a few weeks. These were all done in mixed media on paper and I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out.
A mixed media painting I did today, done on a brown envelope. It didn't scan in very well, but the surface of the envelope worked really well for applying paint thickly. I used loads of ink too and it didn't warp the paper at all so that was a bonus. I'm going to try a few more in a similar style over the weekend and see if I can do some better scans. The picture was done in acrylic, ink, pen, and some oil pastel.
I was abit restless last night, so I starting doodling and came up with these 3 sketches. I really like the first one, I think because its so simple. I'm not sure what the other 2 are about.
