Colour Collective started back up last week - yay! The chosen colour was one of Pantone's colours of the year 'Rose Quartz' so it felt very appropriate and I'm sure we will see 'Serenity' pop up at some point (although I did decide to include it in this piece anyway!).

I saw these cute little rabbit figurines on Pinterest some time ago, and they were described as 'totems' which I thought was really interesting. I really wanted to explore the idea some more through my own illustrations, and I'm thinking about doing a small series based on this idea. Would you be interested in seeing more?

A little feline silliness on a chilly Monday! Hope you all had a good weekend!

So, after a Christmas break, Colour Collective is finally back this week! Last Friday, as a way of getting to know all of the illustrators who take part, the organisers decided that we should get involved in the Meet the Artist hashtag and it was really lovely to see the awesome pieces everyone came up with! It also highlighted just how many artists have joined Colour Collective lately - awesome!

Have any of you watched Jessica Jones? We finished watching it recently and it was surprisingly great - I think I now prefer it to Daredevil (which is also awesome!). If you're a fan of David Tennant then you definitely need to see it, he's brilliant in it. His character is horrible and you'll probably want to punch him in the face, but he's very good!

Josie mentioned that I should draw some more alpacas, so these little fellows are for her!

Continuing our cosmic collection, we have this happy planet and his satellite buddy! It gets lonely in space but I think these guys will be okay!

The moon needed a friend, so I created this smiling sun to keep him company!

I love the moon; I used to think that there was a friendly face on the moon when I was little, this is what I imagined him to look like.

A little while ago, Tara asked for more wolves, so I decided to illustrate this purple pretty howling at the moon! What animals would you like to see more of here? I'm always happy to take suggestions.

I've always been interested in Greek mythology, and in particular the story of Medusa. I thought I'd have a go at modernising her a little, and I actually think she's pretty cute!

So, all of the Christmas and New Year's excitement is officially over - boo! I still have a few illustrations from last year that I haven't got round to posting here yet, so I'll be publishing them over the next few weeks whilst I dream up some new projects for 2016. If you have any requests or ideas you'd like to see, just leave me a little comment below and I'll see what I can do!

This is an illustration I finished quite awhile ago when I was illustrating the red rose from Alice in Wonderland. It's based on the 'shy little violet' flowers from the Golden Afternoon flower bed - it's one of my favourite scenes in the movie! I was thinking of drawing all of the flowers but some of them are just really mean and I think I hate them a bit!
Anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful and safe New Year's Eve and I wish you all the best for 2016!
