Ohh Deer

I decided to enter my Ponyo illustration into the current Ohh Dear competition. I'd really appreciate it if you could check out the page and maybe like or share my entry to help me out a little! The design is even available to buy whilst the competition is on-going - pretty cool! You can view my entry here. I believe the competition runs until the 21st of April if you'd like to take part too; I might even try to submit a couple more designs if I get the chance. Thanks guys!

Ponyo's Sisters

Ah, I really love Ponyo! It's such a happy anime and I could watch it time and time again. If you've never seen it, it's about a little goldfish girl who swims away from home and meets a little boy called Sosuke. The two become friends and Ponyo uses her magic to transform herself into a human (it's based on the idea of 'The Little Mermaid'). Ponyo has hundreds of goldfish sisters, so I decided to make an illustration featuring them!

I'd love to know what you think! Do you have a favourite anime movie?

Etsy Art Finds

First things first, I am now an Etsy affiliate! A lovely lady called Justyna emailed me a short while ago to ask if I'd like to be part of the scheme, and seeing as I love Etsy and handmade goods, of course I said yes. The affiliate programme basically allows bloggers like me to earn a small commission by curating our own little selection of products, then if anybody decides to make a purchase, we get a little money back! I thought maybe I'd do some Etsy wishlist-type posts a couple of times a month if you guys enjoy them, what do you think?

So todays wish-list features some of the art goodies I've spied on Etsy and fallen in love with. Some of these shops are recent finds, and some I've been a fan of for a long time.

I love everything on Teacup Piranha's store! I found out about it whilst I was searching for Ponyo illustrations and saw this gorgeous one - how cute. Aside from that, they also sell these vintage inspired travel posters for a whole manner of fantastical locations, they even have an awesome GoT's one!

I came across Meluseena's lovely store the other day whilst browsing for Khaleesi themed artwork. I spotted this gem of an illustration featuring the Mother of Dragons herself, but it's so sweet! I love this particular style and I think it'd be perfect for any GoT fan.

I discovered Anna See ages ago but I've always loved her work! She illustrates the most adorable animals you are likely to see in a really simple but lovely style. I love all of these little bears!

Would you be happy to display any of these prints on your walls?

A Blogger for Every Month: Paige Joanna

I'm a little late with my blogger this month, but here is the lovely Paige Joanna, just in the nick of time! I've been following Paige's blog for ages now, I'm sure many of you are too. She's got a fantastic sense of style, which encompasses lots of gorgeous pastel colours and prints, plus flaming red hair - what more could you want! Paige is also a really talented illustrator (her artwork appeared in the same issue of Aesthetic as me!) so there's always plenty of interesting things happening on her blog. Check out her blog right here

Little Fairies

I've been creating some little fairies for the new Violet & Ted story, so I thought that I'd make a cute pattern with them too. I think my favourite one is the pink-haired fairy carrying a pumpkin! I hope you've all been enjoying the recent sunnier weather; it will soon be time for me to get my jelly shoes back out!

Balloon

Just another little pastel illustration today. I've been busy working on a couple of commissions plus Violet & Ted so I feel like I'm getting a little behind with updating my blog. I'm trying though! I saw a really pretty photograph of a hot air balloon rising up behind some mountains so I thought I'd illustrate my own version. This illustration kind of reminds me of a vintage childrens book or something similar - what do you think?

Enjoy your pancakes today! I'll be making some later, hopefully with some Nutella and golden syrup (not together, that would probably be too sickly even for me!).
