Elsa

First things first, I hope you all had an amazing Christmas - did you have fun? I hope none of you were caught in the terrible floods, crazy!

So, here is the second illustration in my little Frozen series, this is Elsa! Everyone seems to love Elsa the best, but I think Anna seems pretty cool too and I'm obsessed with her cape. Anna had a polar bear to cuddle, so I needed to give Elsa a little animal companion too. I chose a dainty bird which matches her outfit fairly well! I hope you guys like this one too.

My Christmas was spent at my parents house, where we mostly ate a lot of food! I also got the chance to go and see 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty' on boxing day which was really interesting and I'd definitely recommend it. Not at all like Ben Stiller's usual films. Amazing scenery too, if you're at all artsy I think you'd love it!

Do you have any plans for New Year's Day?

Anna

I have to make a confession and say that I haven't actually seen Frozen yet (I know!) but everyone was talking about it the other day on Twitter, especially Marta, so I decided I'd illustrate some of the characters. I'm definitely going to see this movie as soon as possible as it seems to have glowing reviews! Anyway, this is my interpretation of Anna, I decided to add a baby polar bear just for the cuteness factor so I hope you don't mind me taking a little artistic license. I've already started my Elsa illustration and hopefully I'll be able to post that after Christmas. I'll probably not be around on Twitter/my blog until the 27th so I will wish you all Merry Christmas now! I hope you have an amazing festive season, and I can't wait to read all of your Christmas posts. I've really been enjoying reading various gift guides and seeing all of your holiday decorations.

You've all been so lovely this past year, all of your comments have been so inspiring and sweet! If you have any ideas for illustrations you'd like to see on my blog, then please just drop me a comment and I'll see what I can do in the new year.

Thank you for visiting and for all of your amazing support!

Christmas Wishes & Snow Bunny Kisses!

Jennie and I are very pleased to present the first Violet & Ted (short) story! We've been busy working on this little Christmas tale for a couple of months, and we've managed to come up with something we're both very proud of. Jennie has written the most adorable story which really shows off her excellent writing style and I'm sure you're all going to love it! Without further ado, here is...

I hope you enjoyed this story and I'd love to know your thoughts. If you have any feedback, please feel free to drop me a comment below!
Violet & Ted will be returning for a special story next Easter, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

I'd like to thank everyone that has supported my blog this year, it means an awful lot to me. All of your comments are really inspiring. Merry Christmas!

Blogger Cuties

1/2/3

I decided to make this pattern on a bit of a whim, but I've ended up quite liking it! I wanted to include some of my favourite bloggers and it was tough to only choose four. In the end I decided to pick Laura, Megan, Zoe, and Kailey. Let me know if you managed to guess before reading this!

In other news, I've finished all of my Christmas shopping now, although I didn't really have many presents to buy in the first place. How are you all getting on? I've also managed to hurt my fingernail on a tealight candle!

Lily & Aerys!

I promised that I was going to draw Lily Melrose as part of this series, and here she is (along with her kitten Aerys!). I knew that I wanted to draw her in a 'Game of Thrones' style as she is a huge fan, so I made her into an honorary Targaryen. I really loved creating this one, especially Aerys, I think she looks like a pretty fierce war kitten!

I'd love to know what you think too!

Winter Animals Pattern

1/2/3/4

I've been working on the animals for this pattern for quite awhile now but have only just gotten around to sorting it out! I think this pattern could make really cute Christmas wrapping paper as it has a wintery theme but isn't really too traditional. I've popped it up on my Society6 store already, and even made a little range. It would be amazing if they added gift wrap to their item selection, maybe one day! Let me know what you think of this, and if you have a favourite 'winter animal'. I adore robins too, but I thought they might be a little overdone at this point aha, they are still extremely cute though.

Artists I'm inspired by: Rebecca Cobb

I came across the work of Rebecca Cobb quite recently while I was researching Quentin Blake and their originals both happened to be sold from the same website. She's definitely had a fairly prolific career so far, having illustrated many lovely childrens storybooks. I love how unique and original her illustrations are, they are quite painterly and carefree, and her use of colour is really beautiful. I'm sure I would have loved these when I was little too! Do you remember any of the storybooks you loved when you were a child?

You can have a look at Rebecca's portfolio here!

Phase Eight: Blogger Christmas Party Competition

1: Ava Emerald Drop Necklace, £25
2: Colette Sequin Dress, £295
3: Adele Clutch Bag, £49

Here is my entry for the Phase Eight Bloggers Christmas Party Competition! The brief is to choose pieces from the site that you would love to wear to a Christmas party and then put together a collage with your chosen look - I decided to illustrate mine of course. If you want to take a little look at the competition, you can do so here. I rarely wear sequins, but I think they can be very eye catching, and pretty for Christmas! I also went for a red dress as I've always seen red as a festive colour and it suits pale skin tones so well. I spied this amazing jewelled necklace on the site, which is definitely a statement piece and looks much more expensive than it actually is. I also wanted to keep the accessories to a minimum so went for a simple red clutch to compliment the dress. It does seem fairly unlikely that a little fawn would want to follow me around, but wouldn't that be lovely aha!

If you decide to take part, then please let me know as I'd love to see your entries. The prize up for grabs is a £100 voucher to spend in store so it's well worth giving it a go.
